Training description
The training programme is composed of 2 years, M1 and M2, divided each in 2 academic semesters.
M1 consists in a general training in engineering sciences and all the basic textile technologies. A specific assistance is provided to n+i students by a teacher and a personal French student tutor during this first year. An industrial internship of 8 weeks has to be done at the end of M1.
M1 programme:
- Semester 1: Package of Methodological Integration organized by ENSAIT with lessons in sciences (Maths, Chemistry, Mechanics, Computer science), textile technology courses (fibres, spinning, weaving, knitting, nonwovens, dyeing/finishing, garment manufacturing …), Project management and French and English
- Semester 2: Textile technology courses, Sciences (Automatics, Mechanics, Polymer chemistry), sustainable development, management, French and English
Note that this programme can be adapted for candidates who have already studied textile courses in their previous university degree.
M2 consists of advanced courses in a specific field for which a choice of a Major has to be made when signing for the Ensait n+i programme. Two Major specializations are proposed: Technical Textiles or Fashion and Services. A final thesis project of 18 weeks has to be carried out in industry or in a research laboratory.
Description of the Major specializations (year M2):
- Technical textiles engineering (ITT Ingénierie Textiles Techniques): aimed towards traditional or technical textiles in very diverse fields (health/medical, sports, automotive, aeronautics, building, protective textiles …), where functionalized and high performance textiles, composites etc. are implemented. Positions held by these engineers are in Research and Development, Production, Quality, Project Management …
- Fashion and Services management (IMS Ingénierie Modes et Services): aimed towards the garment manufacturing industry, fashion and luxury, retail, supply chain management ... This programme leads to positions in Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Design, Corporate Social Responsibility …
M2 programme:
- Semester 1: Advanced textile technology courses, seminars, Innovation Project, Management, elective courses. One third of the programme is dedicated to the Major specialization (Technical Textiles or Fashion and Services) of the student
- Semester 2: industrial or research thesis project on an engineering issue related to the chosen Major
